Interviews

The Pickens County School System will conduct initial interviews on June 5, 2007 for elementary positions and on June 6, 2007 for secondary positions.  Below are the current positions that remain unfilled as of this date.  To be scheduled for an interview, contact Pickens County Board of Education at (205) 367-2085 or email Margaret Seymer.

Only complete applications with all required supportive documents enclosed will be considered for review and assessment.  Applicants must meet Alabama's definition of a "Highly Qualified Teacher" to be scheduled for an interview.  It is essential that all pertinent information pertaining to employment with the Pickens County Board of Education.  Items A through D must be received in this office prior to the Superintendent's recommendation to the Board of Education for employment.  Check the areas below for information needed.

Applicants with Alabama Certificate

  1. All official college/University transcripts {or an official letter from college/university stating that all course work has been completed  with and official transcript to follow or copy of transcript request form}
  2. Copy of Alabama Certificate {or copy of application filed with college/university}
  3. Copy of Praxis II or Alabama Prospective Teacher Test results
  4. Copy of Highly Qualified documentation from the State of Alabama Department of Education
  5. Verification of any previous teaching experience
  6. Resume

 

 

Applicants without Alabama Certificate

  1. All official college/university transcripts {or an official letter from college/university stating that all course work has been completed  with and official transcript to follow or copy of transcript request form}
  2. Copy of valid teaching certificate currently held in any other state
  3. Copy of Praxis II or any other teacher test results
  4. Copy of Highly Qualified documentation from any other state
  5. Verification of any previous teaching experience
  6. Resume
