In this study, the authors demonstrated with one student the effectiveness of self-monitoring, self-evaluation, and self-recruitment of teacher attention for decreasing problem behavior and increasing on-task behavior and productivity. As you read this article, notice how important the functional assessment process was for developing the intervention and how teacher perceptions of student behavior are positively impacted by the implementation of these strategies.
